Poem: Melanin

by dreamreal on 6 November, 2010

As the melanin fails and the heart grows weak

The eyes grow cold and the mouth tries to speak

Of coin and work and failure and love

To ears too fresh to look above

Their moment of glory and need of one day

The instant that stuns, and passes away

Wisdom must follow, and fall to decay

And rise again through failure, experience, delay.
