Obama wins a Nobel Peace Prize in … twelve days!
President Obama has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. Unbelievable. Staggering. Horrifying. Since submissions for the Nobel end on February 1, this means that he won the Nobel for: campaigning for the Presidency, and being in office for twelve days, most of which were spent speechifying (lots!) and picking out various czars for his administration. Uncle Bobby’s Wedding
Posted by dreamreal in Philosophy, Politics, general on 6 October, 2009
As I sit here listening to “Beneath, Between, and Behind,” I just finished reading “Uncle Bobby’s Wedding,” a librarian’s extraordinarily thoughtful response to a woman who objected to a book that presented an uncle’s changing relationship to a child, presumably (and logically) on the basis that the relationship was a homosexual one. Jihad for Dummies
Okay, so apparently Hamas fired a Stinger at an Israeli Apache helicopter, unaware that their Stinger was prepped with a friendly-fire protection mechanism that refused to target the Apache. When you’re supposed [...]
Oooo, accountability must suck.
Wells Fargo cancelled a conference where everyone rides high on the hog, so to speak. They got called on it; good for someone. The rest of the story is really interesting; in the dead-tree version of USA Today, a supporter of Obama’s whined that it was scary that the government might limit compensation to $500,000 [...]
John Stossel: “I want my word back.”
John Stossel, in “Anything That’s Peaceful,” says he wants the word “liberal” back, from the morons who use the term now. I’m all for it. Liberal used to mean permissive, letting the person have the freedom to do anything that’s peaceful; now it means a different tyranny, is all. I want my word, back, too.
